No ‘rasx() on film’ for 2010

This was my 2009 introduction to ‘rasx() on film’:

The year 2009 damn-sure should be the toughest year in my adult life. I learned quite a bit—but not enough about writing about film. This year only has one half-dozen entries from my Blog—apart from those compiled in “DVDs with the Elders.” Nevertheless, here are references to films that I’m exceptionally proud to recommend.

Actually, 2010 was kind of a continuation of 2009—not from an individual economic point of view but for a socioeconomic view. In my social circle—as small as it is—the people around me are having quite a tough time. So I’ve had to respond to several challenges, many of them family related and quite serious.

So 2010 has almost one piece about film—I say almost because “My Picks from the PBS Series Art 21: Art in the Twenty-First Century” is not really a filmic thing. It’s more of a Tee Vee thing that might have been shot on film (hope not).

Another significant obstacle to writing about my reflections on motion pictures is my technical debt that includes the old-ass publishing system I’ve built (before the Blog concept was so popular) used to support kintespace.com and SonghaySystem.com. I’ve been working hard (too hard) to upgrade my publishing system—and this task spawned other tasks that have been quite time consuming.

The assumption here (just like the assumption in 2009) is that 2011 will find me significantly improved—and when “what’s mines” improves, other boats do rise. My inside joke of seriousness is 2010 was the year “we make contact”—in many ways it has. So 2011 must be the year that these contacts turn into strengthened bonding…
