XForms Builder and other links…

Buy this Book at Amazon.com! Dan McCreary: “If you are interested in seeing how XForms can be used as a development environment, I would suggest you check out the new Orbeon XForms Builder…” This thing is entirely web based—I assumed it was yet another subtly disappointing eclipse plug-in.

Microsoft Source Analysis

Chris Brandsma: “So there is a new tool out there for all of you who need help keeping your source code up to snuff, similar to what FxCop does for your API…just at the source code level. It is called the Microsoft Source Analysis for C# (sorry VB). BTW, there is also a blog.” I am not impressed with this tool because it was not what I expected: a tool to help me write code. This is more of a tool to help me store properly formatted code files in a repository for future reference.

“Topic: Master and Subdocuments”

Allen Wyatt’s Word Tips are full of Master and Subdocuments topics. I had no idea this feature was in Microsoft Word! This is yet another one of my public embarrassments after my glowing remarks for Scrivener.

“OpenOffice-based applications with Mono and MonoDevelop”

Miguel de Icaza: “The entire OpenOffice suite is built on top of a component technology called UNO (which is inspired by COM, but heavily extended). Pretty much all of the functionality in OpenOffice is exposed through some UNO interface… To build OpenOffice solutions, you need to install the OpenOffice addin for MonoDevelop. To do this, follow these steps.”
