About the 12-year-old Nigerian who became a Sun Certified Programmer…
At javalobby.org, Yakov Fain, a professional consultant who holds degrees in applied mathematics, reports in “12-year old Nigerian is a certified Java Programmer” that a 12-year-old boy from Nigeria, Allwell Worgu, took a Sun Microsystems professional certification exam and passed it. This is what the boy says:
…there is no big deal in writing the exam. When adults write exams, they have many things in their mind; that’s why they always fail. Maybe those that fail were not ready, especially adults, who will be thinking about their business, their market, money in the bank, their stocks and so on, so they find it difficult to concentrate. As a child, I think it’s better to write it at this period when I don’t have much distraction…
This story is discussed somewhere in Java Posse #122. He also says, apparently matter-of-factly and, according an article, “12-Year-Old Nigerian Bags Sun’s Java Certificate,” on the Nigerian-German Business Group web site, strongly, that “blacks are more intelligent than the white.” First of all, it is utterly stupid to say that “blacks are more intelligent than the white”—to people who are of whiteness. They are not going to like that kind of joking. Self-described “white people” can joke about death on a massive scale and toilet functions—but professional comedians like Paul Mooney teaches us, warning us (while joking) not to play like that with self-described white people. In fact, this is an ironic Eurocentric, colonial thing to hear coming from the mouth of someone with strong African features.
When you, with strong African features, find yourself in an open and explicit intelligence contest with self-described “white people” you are now in a battle that can last for a period of time you most likely did not plan for… And these self-described white people are not going to “play fair.” You are now in Paul Robeson hell. Paul Robeson was a physical and intellectual specimen of meta-Greek proportions—you are now attacking the foundational consciousness that allows little-Dick Chaney to wake up every morning thinking he is an actual person. You are threatening the lives of flesh men who possess nuclear weapons and little humanity to not use them. You think some “black bandits” in Lagos are cruel—well meet their imperial master… their missionary teacher… the next Hollywood movie in the local theatre… International thief, thief…
According to the Black folklore and Black scientific research taught to me, you can be a great physical African but you cannot be a great intellectual African at the same time—and expect to be celebrated in “mainstream” propaganda (this propaganda system, the media, is the default, mechanical instructor of American children—the priority is to protect the “self-esteem,” voting habits and future consumer dollars of “average white” children). With few exceptions, the European laws of drama place us in the realm of comedy—black comedy. In comedy, the European-trained audience needs to look down on the characters. By blocking off the physical and intellectual surface area with our African dominion, they can no longer “reach” us through their dramatic sensitivities (and not being reached by your colonial masters means you are ‘dead’ or at least “increasingly irrelevant”)—and keep in mind that when I say “they” I am also referring to properly assimilated, imperial-style thinkers of all genotypes throughout the European colonized world. And when I also say, “they,” I warn you, young boy, that you are scaring away your future, colonized, African wife. Her survival instinct often overrides her responsibility to her ever-fading memory of her ancestors and she will leave you for ‘dead’—for the sake of the immediate gratification she calls her future—and “obvious” reasons of missionary objectivity… You follow me, smart kid? Or is this more comedy? Albatross!
My captive hope is that this young boy, with his flippant statements of African superiority, will not find himself outnumbered and outgunned and “unreachable” by the “rest of the world.” It’s lonely at the top little brother! What would have been more intelligent (and more accurate) to say is that people who excel in spite of limited resources are by definition superior to those who achieve the same “level” consuming more resources. Politically professional white supremacists—propagandists of all skin colors understand this—and many are deeply invested in suppressing the actual level of achievement those from the under classes maintain in spite of being, in too many cases, deliberately deprived. To celebrate the genius of so-called “poor” people is to undermine the irreligious piety of a financially secure, American Imperial Republican exclaiming that “God” made him rich.
These are my adult thoughts, young Allwell Worgu, that at times make it “difficult to concentrate.” But these times of confusion diminish daily…
