Today’s Media Links

Buy this book at Amazon.com!There are quite a few links today! Is there really enough time for me to go through these?

Robin Strayhorn Terrazzo

I’m almost certain that Robin hasn’t seen this web page showing off her work at Ontario Airport. You can see Ms. Strayhorn here at kintespace.com.

Adobe CS3 Launch

The streaming video site for the Adobe CS3 Launch is an impressive, progressive improvement for the dogfooding culture at Macromedia/Adobe. None of the vendors that demand my attention as a developer impress me in this area. Perhaps one of the guys working for these vendors is wearing a nice shirt today. Nice shirt. There’s something “positive” to say.

“Documents in Windows Presentation Foundation”

Documents in Windows Presentation Foundation” opens my first chapter in seriously investigating .NET 3.0. This “flow document” concept promises to address the bread-and-butter basics that few (none at Channel9) have made screencasts about… Making a video spin is cute but meaningless without the dynamic typographic powers of the technology. Is it “too boring” to show off Microsoft’s replacement for em or strong?

Kito D. Mann’s JSF Wish List

JSF 2.0 Wish List Part 1” by Kito D. Mann helps me learn about Java Server Faces. It must seem strange to paid evangelists how one can understand a new technology by finding out what it cannot do.

JSF Tutorial Moved

“JSF Training Course Materials” is here today. Do see the “Free Tutorials” page at coreservelets.com but keep in mind that PDF files are as advertised: terse presentation slides.

nxslt2

nxslt2 is a free feature-rich command line utility that allows to perform XSL Transformations (XSLT) using .NET Framework 2.0 XSLT implementation.”

Not Recommending but Mentioning Formsite.com

My ignorance of Formsite.com is nothing for me to dismiss. It is great that such “user-friendly” services exist. Developers get caught up in building everything from scratch and this can paralyzing at times as our greed becomes overwhelming.

Ditto for HtmlPedia.org

htmlpedia.org is a great idea. But I’m not sensing enthusiasm.

Nimbus

Nimbus is the name of a look-and-feel designed by Sun for the Java Desktop System.”

Black Weblog Awards

I had no idea this happened in 2006.

RCF

RCF, a rich component library for JSF”…

YUI Drag, Slide, Fade

YUI based configurable slideshow”…

Not Keen on Office Add-on Development

Developing for Microsoft was so unrewarding and difficult for my needs that stuff like “Writing UNO Components” for OpenOffice.org does not suffuse me with joy. My next sketch is to build a framework that slices and dices XML office documents. This focus disregards Office applications and pays proper respect to Office documents. To support my new outlook, “OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-in for Office” provides encouragement.
