More Songhay Workstation Video Driver Problems
“The NVIDIA Display Driver Service service terminated unexpectedly…” the first time (evidently) this appears in the system logs is 10/28/2006. The monitor lost its signal this morning during a Desktop-switch maneuver… At least these shutdowns are somewhat recognizable by the OS.
The response was to assume that the MSI Web is not displaying the MSI NX6200 AX driver for 2006 (the 8.6(?) driver that shipped with my hardware) deliberately. The latest driver listed is 8.2.* (“8212”) from 12/19/2005. So the newer 2006 driver was uninstalled and replaced with the older driver.
Pessimism says that this action will not solve the problem. At best the system will work for a time period similar to the 2006 driver and start shutting down again.
