Dr. Gloria GordonDeafening silence over slavery inhibits the learning of black children” at blackbritain.co.uk is a resounding rarity these days. It is a welcome introduction to the work of Dr. Gloria Gordon. I can only hope that there are wired sound recordings of Dr. Gordon’s lectures available for download. It will go down well with works such as our LIBRadio Sampler “Doctoral Warriors for the African Mind” here at kintespace.com.

What is available for download is George Lakoff’s important lecture, “Framing The Debate: Politics & Language.” He articulates quite well what is wrong with white liberals and why they have been so impotent—especially since they lost their charismatic leaders of color in the 1960s and 1970s. “We” tend to forget that Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell could win debates with the most powerful white supremacist intellectuals. George Lakoff, of course, fails to include this in his lecture. But he did not fail to introduce me to the cultural leaders of adult contemporary, Christian-fascist white supremacy, such as James Dobson. It is ironic that this multi-billion-dollar conservative “think tank” movement began in 1964—the year Malcolm X was assassinated.

A previous Blog post, “Eyes on the Prize and Google™ Have Something in the Commons?”, jumped into the censorship surrounding Eyes on the Prize. Two interesting events happened (to me) since this post. One is my discovery of the article “It doesn’t matter if the cause is just” by the nephew of Henry Hampton. And the other is the rebroadcast of Eyes on the Prize on KCET. This rebroadcast is still not enough to renew my membership but it was surprising nonetheless.
