What I Did Last Summer

Queen Mother N’Ast and Julius W. Garvey, M.D.The July 16 2005 Marcus Garvey Celebration here in Los Angeles included honors for elders Queen Mother N’Ast and Julius W. Garvey, M.D., the son of Marcus Garvey, (shown at left). We should all know of the greatness that Dr. Julius W. Garvey inherits and incarnates. The latest tidbit which interests me, by the way, is the fact that a general of the Japanese Imperial armed forces wrote a fictional novel that included Marcus Garvey leading “10 Million Negroes” in an assault on the United States. You can find that little “un-American” ditty in Race War an excellent book written by my old UCSB professor, Gerald Horne. Being well aware of the white supremacy that many mistake for wisdom, making smug little white-rabbit snickers of quiet desperation, I daresay that this Japanese General of World War II was actually serious about his fictional representation of Marcus Garvey—and it is a triumph of the will of traditional American propaganda that makes “the hearts and minds” maintain that this view is absurd.

I am unable to answer this question in detail—in this language. In fact, I am not even moved to tell you what ‘the appropriate language’ is. What I can say is that Queen Mother N’Ast has devoted her life to teaching ‘us’ what is the appropriate language and “somehow,” “some way” she was being honored on the same day in the same place as Dr. Julius W. Garvey. For you readers who are moved to “play along” with my “little game” see LIBRadio Sampler: Divine Conversations here at kintespace.com for all the relevant contact information.

Anyway, this turn of events last summer may seem strange—even to those “our” FBI agents would consider “the converted”—the self-described “afro-centric” leaders of Los Angeles in particular and the United States in general. You see, the number one turn-off with Queen Mother N’Ast, her teachings, is the role Holy Bible plays. You see, rightfully Holy Bible is regarded solely as an instrument of deception by angry, black “radicals.” To take that book seriously in any way outside of the context of condemnation smacks these folks in the face as stupidity. To me, this sentiment is the same as a “black radical” musician refusing to play do re mi fa so la ti do because the italic words in this sentence come from Italy. This “black radical” musician failed to learn from that flute pulled from the ancient Egyptian tomb, making the same tones as those that are supposed to come from Italy.

Queen Mother N’Ast has a high regard for Marcus Garvey. She at times uses the ancestral word for “honorable ones of old” to refer to Marcus Garvey. The motto of his organization, “One God, One Aim, One Desitiny,” is interpreted by her as the effects one vital common mindset can have on our people. We people can make yet another tower of Babel or we can make the development of the next generation of African children our sole responsibility. Before we move in this direction, the opinion here is to not mistake singularity for unity. That “black radical” musician may fail to hear that the people are playing their part individually and together simultaneously. The rhythm section of Imperial music is designed to keep the soldiers marching. The rhythm sections of African music are independent instantiations of sound energy working together to make your mind and body move without injury to yourself or others such that it is pleasant and healthy. So I end this paragraph with a reference to the picture of Marcus Garvey’s ceremonial garment (shown below). Does this garment represent a reactionary Imperialism to white-supreme Imperialism?

Another little tidbit of my interest: Marcus Garvey was a printer. We often do not appreciate what it means to be a trained, professional printer in the early 1900s with respect to our times. This means undoubtedly that Marcus Garvey would be very adept with computers and computer-generated media in our times. I do not think he would be Vice President of Programming at Fox News. I think he would “waste” his life on making media for “the wretched of the earth.”
