Much Respect for Young Dare O.

My last Blog post about a correction is in need of a correction. I’m exceedingly pleased to read “Nigeria 2005 Trip: Week 1” and “Nigeria 2005 Trip: Week 2.” We need to hear more from African-descended people talking casually about “high” technology and their Africaness. The two go together with a depth and precision that is typified by the pyramids of the Old Kingdom. I sincerely ‘hope’ that I am not embarrassing Dare Obasanjo by making a note of this—our young people innocently want to assimilate ‘naturally.’ But Dare, himself, remarked about how fat he has gotten since he left his homeland. Sometimes the “developing” world may mean developing an Imperial waistline. Dare has enough insight to think about losing weight—and staying technically fit like Michael Jordan dunking XML markup.

So I need to correct myself: Dare O., renowned employee of Microsoft, is not just writing about Redmondian doings with a Greek-like sense of educated antisepsis. He knows how to get funky. For funk is its own reward… Just to make a political point about “inclusiveness” that big-nose guy, Rory, is also quite funky—read “Dear women... I am so very sorry.
