DEVIN DAVIS still answers to the name townee—I am sure. In June of 2001, townee published “Linuses (at Santa Cruz).” In March of 2002, he returned to the kinté space with “How I’d Describe Myself in 25 Words, or Less.” Now we take a collection of short “doodles” or snapshots of space time he submitted back in 2002, which is an interesting compliment to the terse poems of Timeka Drew, her “momentary retrospection” of May 2004. I will indefinitely maintain that the spirit of haiku can be celebrated without trying to count words and syllables—this work by Devin Davis is no exception.
